I hiked the abandoned pyrite mine trail in Prince William Forest this weekend. Pretty interesting ruins to explore, and lots of wildlife (herons, orioles, white-tailed deer, and an entire pond full of strenuously-mating frogs). But the most interesting thing I saw was sitting in the parking lot by the ranger station.

That is jaw dropping. I love Exige's. One day.... This is motivation for me to get out there and do some exploring.

Hiking trails with such a rich history is really awesome. I used to hike trails up in Massachusetts with old mill ruins. An area along the trail would never grow any plant life because there was an old rubber plant there. You can still jump up and down on the rubber coated ground. There is a train station and turn-style as well but it's all in ruins and hidden by the forest now. It's really awesome.
Oh, and the Exige is nice too.

That is one of my favorites. I think i'd take that over a Ferrari.

Is this on the Hanover/Hanson line? I've been back there but never to the rubber plant. I've heard stories about jumping on the ground.

I want to go to there!
There's something about abandoned places that I find eerily cool. Mostly I've found old farmhouses, mills, hunting cabins, a couple of old cars. I also once explored the quarry where the sandstone for the Smithsonian Castle was cut. That was a cool one, and home to some very colorful box turtles.

Jagvar simply saw an Exige in the wild.

That's because big cats like that live in the wild, so it'll happen.

Explore for gold maybe. This is motivation for me to buy an Exige.

I love seeing the wildlife. Though, the turtles I encountered up there were the snapping kind. Mean little suckers. Beautiful, especially in the fall. There is a fishing ladder there as well. It's small time but it's where I grew up and it's really kind of cool. The area is called Luddams Ford.
That's the fishing ladder there. To the left, across the street is where the remnants of the rubber mill are. Just behind this is where the old train station was. It's heavily over grown but it's awesome. It sits on the line between Pembroke and Hanover MA. Massachusetts has a lot of history. There is stuff like this all over the place.

Hanover/Pembroke line. If I remember correctly. I used to ride my bike all back there. Lot of neat trails. The rubber remnants (no real ruins left) is across the street from the parking area.

That's pretty funny. I had a cousin that lived near there. We would access the trails near Myette's corner store. There would be camp fires back there all the time. (as well as booze potato cannons etc.)

Myette's. Oh the memories. My brother and our friends used to ride our bikes down there, grab a sub and keep going. It was the good ole days for sure. My grandma and I would go to Luddams Ford and eat lunch and it was a great time.
